Parts for a friend's new build

Hello guys. A friend of mine are looking at getting a new pc as his is now a bit old. And I'm looking at some parts that will fit his need.

The build will be used mainly for 1080p single screen gaming. While he have one more screen e only games on one screen.
While the budget for the build is a bit unclear he doesn't want anything overkill it just have to play most modern games at around 60fps. So I would say a budget of about 2000 dollars. While he himself doesn't overclock I might make him, or do it myself.

Here are the parts I'm thinking of mainly:
Chassi: He wanted a full tower chassi even though he won't need it :D. For the chassi I'm thinking about Phantom or Switch 810.
Motherboard: RoG MVF
CPU: 3570k
GPU: Either a 670 or a reference 680
Memory: G.skill Ripjaws Z CL7 1600mhz 4x4gb. (Look at them sexy timings :D): http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=469
Psu: Either a HX850 or a AX750
SSD: For now one ssd for the os will be enough, I'm thinking Samsung 830 128gb
HDD: A 2tb will be enough, recommendations?
Cooling: For cooling I'm thinking about the H100i but as my friend works as a plumber I'm going to try to convince him of making a custom water cooling loop 🙂

I'm wondering what you guys think as well as I need some recommendation for a HDD. Also what do you guys think, ref 680 or some kind of non-ref 670, this is due to there being some ref 680s at the price of a non-ref 670.

The build might be started either this year or early next year.

If you want a long term viable upgrade path for VGA then AMD is the way forward. They allow you to mix and match in CrossfireX. So I have run a 5870 and a 6870 on the same board. Now I have a 7970 in my system downstairs and if I wanted to in a years time I could move the 7970 down a slot and put the next gen AMD card as my primary card.

Just some food for thought. 🙂
