Missing_Link
Level 7
New here and just like to say hello to all the mods and members first.
Starting new build and just need a little advice on some parts.

Parts Already.

Motherboard, Asus Rampage Extreme iv.
CPU, Intel 3930k.
GPU, Asus GTX 780.
SSD, Intel 520s 240gig.
Case, Cooler Master Cosmos II Ultra Tower.
All parts brand new and still in boxes.

Parts Considered.

PSU, Corsair 860i.
Water Cooling, Corsair h100i.
Memory/Ram i cannot decide on memory for the life of me
there is to many to pick from, that being said i was looking at
Corsair 16GB (4x4GB) 2133MHz DDR3, Dominator GT. or
Corsair 32GB (4x8GB) 2133MHz DDR3, Vengeance Pro.

I know the GT is very fast memory but it's only 16gig will the GT
out perform the 32gig of vengeance pro.
Appreciate any advice on memory modules and i have never used any
other type of memory than corsair and will the PSU and watercooling
be adequate for this build...Thanks for any help. cheers.

7990's are too damn expensive and besides, the usable RAM is 3GB...if I want a 6GB card(From ATI) i'd buy a Vapor-X from Sapphire, whether they're any good or not, I don't know lol: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1309&products_id=21626

yeah nice...the specs on that card are awesome for the price, i only bought sapphire cards and never had a prob, my 5970x2 is sapphire and the card i had before that was sapphire 3870x2 haven't used vapour-x cooling before but i heard it's not to bad and i also like the ATI driver support its always been decent, i never had any problems with drivers from them.

Funny you should say that mate, because there's nothing but complaints about their drivers, takes too long for ATI/AMD to get the drivers mature so users aren't complaining so much...and a lot of the complaining has been in regard to the ARES II

Hahahaaa really...no complaints here been using there drivers for years with no drama's, even in eyefinity or extended desktop running multipule apps doing heavy loads using there betas or finals...i'm using there 13.6 beta now and it's all good, can't even remember when i've had a BSOD i know i haven't had one this year...My nephew who lives with me runs a 5870 no drama with him too...my SSD is OS only and all my games are on a veloci raptor and my programs are on a WD black edition.

Well, if i'm not lucky to get myself sponsored a Poseidon, I just may try and shell out for a 7970 and finally have AMD CPU & VGA for my current setup lol.

Yeah sure would of, Supreme FX III...if i went the sabertooth x79 i would of got a pci and kept the sound card but than i wouldn't be a ROG'er and i probably wouldn't be here...lol. just gotta bite the bullet and say goodbye Creative X-FI and hello sound blaster i need good audio it's a must cause i use razer wireless headphone set...Razer Chimera 5.1 i can't skimp on audio...and i don't think the realtek audio will be up to scratch on rampage iv.
