New Build - Sequence To Install Mobo Drivers & Software ?

Hi,

I have just finished building an i7 2600k rig with Maximus IV Extreme-Z board and a clean Windows 7 64bit installation.

I would like to know what is the correct sequence to install the motherboard drivers and software just in case there is a mandatory priority. My thoughts are to install the chipset drivers first but after that I am not so sure of the sequence and more importantly what board drivers/software to install?

Also do I need the Intel ME software, the board BIOS is 0902 and I am running a single HDD in IDE mode connected via the Intel 6gbs SATA port on the board?

Thx for any advice.

You install the os first. Then I do it this way.
1. Lan Driver
2. Chipset Driver
3. Audio Driver
4. Video Driver
5. Anything else that may need installing.
That is just the order I use. Don't think it really matters to much. I like to have the Lan first. The only reason I follow the rest of that order is they are on the same disk that came with the mother board, and the video driver I download never use the disk.

Being ingnorant and ingnored one post at a time.

For me. Normally with a reboot between each.

Thx for the advice, all done and dusted and running like a bitch on heat.

Them Maximus IV Extreme-Z are great boards, no hiccups at all with modding the BIOS or loading the board drivers, best board I ever bought.
