Just mentioning that adding watercooling to the system's memory won't give you too much benefits... it's more like for a bling factor and in no way for performance increase...
I like the SSD+HDD setups (OS and applications on the SSD and data on the HDD)... the Samsung 830 and 840 series are known to be reliable... for data, I'm using WD Caviar Blacks (2TB), but you can get something slower too if you don't need to access the drive too many times...
The connectors are called fittings...
🙂 The compression fittings seems more secure for me, but they're more expensive... you do need secure clamps on the barb fittings... I like the 3/8"ID / 5/8"OD tubings (Primochill Advanced LRT)...
