Recently purchased a 14900K that will be installed in a Asus Z790 Maximus Hero motherboard using 7200MHz DDR5 CL34. I have the newest bios with the 0x12F microcode update looking for advice on what settings will be needed to attain at least the advertised Intel spec for this CPU. I have a oversized custom loop so cooling is not a issue, dropped my temps by at least 15C with a 12900KS coming from a 360 AIO few cores run at 45C and the package about 52C when gaming (about 150 watts)
Watched Buildzoids video regarding the 14900K optimization of 0x129 microcode and his feelings are the best out of the box would be to use the Asus Optimized (F5) with a few other minor tweaks. Hopefully if this CPU then does what it's advertised to do will move on with a by core OC but not looking to extract max performance just have a system that will boost to it's max frequency and stay there when gaming, could do a static all core but rather go the by core route as it should give better results. Also will be leaving both the P cores/E cores enabled with the possibility of turning off Hyper Threading but that is later on down the road.
Thanks in advance.
