Need Tips on improving ASUS ROG Gaming System Performance

Hello everyone,

I recently upgraded my gaming rig & I want  some advice on how to optimize its performance.

Here is information of my setup:

Motherboard= ASUS ROG Strix Z790 E Gaming WiFi
CPU= Intel Core i9 13900K
GPU= ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090
RAM= 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5600MHz
Storage= Samsung 980 Pro 2TB NVMe SSD
Cooling= Corsair H150i Elite Capellix Liquid CPU Cooler
PSU= ASUS ROG Thor 1200W Platinum II
Monitor= ASUS ROG Swift PG259QN 360Hz

I feel like I am not getting the most out of this powerful hardware, particularly when running demanding games like Microsoft Flight Simulator and Cyberpunk 2077. I think that with these specs, frame drops & skipping should not be appearing on occasion.

I have some question=

I am not  expert at overclocking but I do know a few things. Is there a safe way to overclock the CPU & GPU simultaneously?
What programs or software tools can I use to track and improve the performance of my system?
As my system operates really well, I want to make sure it continues that way. Any advice on improving the fan curve or finding other cooling options?

I am open to any suggestions that might help improve performance . Your expertise & recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.😊

Best regards,
Babita

Hi @babita1120

You might be losing some performance, I haven't tested FS2022, but it could benefit from increased memory performance.

You can see the benefits from going beyond 5600MT here:

Hi @babita1120 , you have not mentioned what BIOS version you are using.

If you install the latest BIOS version, you can then choose Intel Extreme Performance profile for your CPU. This will keep the overclocking within the official Intel Specifications and choose your memory profile to be XMP I which will be the ASUS optimized memory overclocking as a safe starting point.

nVidia does not give much room for overclocking so your GPU overclocking will be limited.

These are good safe overclocking things you can give it a try. If you begin to see any issues, you would have to start rolling back one by one to find a happy medium. Like if XMP I is not stable, try XMP II.

I hope this helps on top of what has been shared here by the moderator above.
