Need help with upgrades

I am looking to get better performance in games like Planetside 2 and Battlefield 4. My current rig will run Planetside 2 on High at about 30 FPS and Battlefield 4 on High at about the same. The main issue I am having is deciding if a new GPU or more RAM might help.

Build:
CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz
RAM: 4GB (Brand not sure of) 1600MHz
GPU: MSI GTX 650 1GB
PSU: EVGA 500w Bronze
Board: GIGABYTE 970A-DS3P

I am looking at spending no more than $300 per part. (Not total upgrades)

Thanks!
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770k @ 4.5GHz | Asus Maximus VI Formula | MSI GTX 780 Lightning | 16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum @ 1866Mhz | Corsair 1200i PSU | 2x Intel 520 Series 240GB SSD (OS & Games) | 2x WD Black 4TB

You could go Intel. That would give you a whole heap more performance to be honest.

But assuming you wish to stay with what you have I would say that right now CPU would be a good place to start. My friend it is all about budget at the end of the day, performance costs money. 🙂

for GPU you need to get a new PSU too.
rule of tumb, never cheep out on PSU, if it goes belly up you CAN be unlucky and get damaged parts from it.
GPU personaly i would go for around 770 or 780 for nvidia or 280 or 290 on amd cards. ( yeah i know they cost )
and PSU around 750 - 850W gold rated.
OR you can look around on the net and see if there is other thats selling the MSI GTX 650 1GB and SLI to gain a lill more peformance ( If it can sli ) but there you must get a new psu ( you have to enny way if your going to get a new GPU ).

if ram? 2x4gig g-skills from 1600 to 2133mhz range.

kkn. G. Skills are built for use with intel extreme end or high end processors (i7-9xx or i7-49xx). See if you can't find fast (1833-2400mhz) RAM, with 4gb capacity. You also need to decide on storage. If you want lots, I would just start with a 2TB Seagate Barracuda, but if you want speed a 1TB Seagate Barracuda + a 120gb Samsung 840 Evo would really speed things up for you. The PSU could definetly use an upgrade. I recommend the Corsair TX, HX, or AX line of PSUs. And that CPU costs pennies. True, it doesn't make it bad but I would aim for an FX-8320. Oh yes, and in terms of a GPU, I would aim for a 760 OC with 4GB. You can find one for the cost of a 770, and yet the preformance is (slightly) better.
