Need help upgrading a really old PC.

Please don't ask me to buy a new one.

Specs:
Galaxy 8600gt
Core 2 quad q6600
Gigabyte s series motherboard
2 gb ram
Amaroo 500w psu
Wd 320gb caviar black

My budget is quite tight, $400-$500.

The only thing that will really make any different is a SSD hard drive and I am not even sure it is compatible with that motherboard bios. Best ask on the Gigabyte support forum about that.

Ha! I thought you were serious about your really old PC. I am in the process of upgrading my old Micronix 386 @ 20 Mhz and 2 MB of Ram. I want more RAM.... I'd like to get 8 MB, and I might have a line on the needful. 😉 I already upgraded the old MFM hdd that was on a RLL controller to two IDE hdds, and added a new 3.5" fdd. It dual boots MS DOS 3.3 and PC-MOS 4.0 :cool:
