need advise for first build...

hi guys... noob here.. i want to build a system for gaming.. this is my first build.

Mobo: AMD 990FXCROSSHAIR V FORMULA
Processor: AMD FX-Series AMD FX-8150 TDP 125W 3.6GHz×8
Memory: CORSAIR DDR3 1600MHz 16GB 4x240 DIMM
Case: NZXT phantom white
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200rpm 3.5inch SATA 6.0Gbps 64MB
VGA: ASUS RADEON HD7870 HD7870-DC2-2GD5
PSU:Silver Stone ATX12V2.3/EPS 1000W
CPU cooling: Corsair h100


Is this a good set up...? will these part go w/out a hitch? TY guys..

I just inquired because there is a rather large difference in performance between AMD and Intel currently.

Both will do what you want. In the UK the FX cpu you have selected and the i5-3570K are the same price. A suitable Intel motherboard cost about the same as the CPU here. For example the ROG Maximus V Gene is in fact cheaper than the CPU to purchase. I do not know if that is the same in your country or how prices are for AMD v Intel.
