CPU - Intel 4770K
Cooler - Corsar H 105
Ram - G Skill Trident X 16GB (2x8) 2400mhz
SSD - SAMSUNG 840 EVO 500GB
HDD - WD Black 1TB
Optical - ASUS DRW
GPU - EVGA GTX780 SC ACX
PS - CORSAR AX860
Monitor - ASUS PB278Q 27inch
OS - WIN 7 Home 64bit

Getting the itch to build again. I'm building to game but I do intend to OC also. Starting slow with the
Noctua cooler and then gonna water cool it later. What I'm really unsure of is the monitor.
Is the 144mhz monitor overkill since i'm starting off with just a single GPU . I'm also on the fence with the 750W PS thinking maybe the 1000W might be the better future proof route. Any advice would be appreciated.

Nate152, I will post back here if I have anymore questions. The private chat thing is kinda confusing me too. I got your message on the sys fan header.

Yes, it should be in the chipset driver.

Yes, that error means there is no chipset driver installed. Make sure you uninstall all drivers if you have any installed or do a reinstall of windows if you want. You want the chipset driver installed first.

It doesn't matter what order you install drivers in when it's intel chipset drivers. To Prove my point, When you do a new chipset driver upgrade it uninstalls all of the old ones and installs the new ones.

The chipset drivers were installed. I did it exactly the way you said. OS, lan, chipset, usb ,nvidea. I went to the intel website and updated the inf from there. The error is gone. Had some initial problems with the pump on the 105 not wanting to power on, had to swap the pump connection from cha. fan connection to an opt. fan connection and it fired right up. The H105 manual is pretty vague about the pump connection. The cpu temp is running around 30c to 32c according to the BIOS. CPU fan speed is back and forth between 475 and 500 rpm (radiator fans). Front case fans running 750 to 800 rpm. Rear case fan at 1025 rpm and the pump is running 1850 to 1855 rpm. Its been running stable since midnight. No problems so far, knock on wood. I have not run memtest yet. Memory is running at 1333 mhz right now, have not bumped it up to the 2400mhz it should do.

Great you got her up and running. You can set xmp profile for your ram. Go into the bios, extreme tweaker tab and set ai overclock tuner to xmp. That will set your ram to its rated specs or you can set it up manually.

I set the xmp profile like you said. Memory is now set at 2400mhz CL 10-12-12-31 at 1.65v. System booted to windows with no problem. Everthing seems stable so far. I have not stress tested anything yet. Still wary about installing AI Suit though, dont want to screw up a good thing.

I hear you, you can install cpu-z and and for temp monitoring I use real temp 3.70. You can install precision x or gpu tweak for your gtx 780.
