My system is finally dying! (Yes!! :P)

Hey everyone! If you enjoy reading, especially enjoy reading people problems with their system, you will enjoy reading this one. I know many of us "experts" really like fixing PC but you will know when the system is failing that you possibly can't fix anymore only too RMA it. (That I don't do, because you can make the system alive your self!, if you enjoy researching and problem solving! also the people who work's there won't fix it only replace the hardware's).

I wasn't active on the forums the last 4 days, because this system has almost failed on me. I'm still using it but it's dying as we speak. I just wan't to open this thread up for the hell of it, that who ever experienced with a dying system that you know, you can't do anything with it only watch it too die! :P.

I know I'm a bit carried away :P, but this system was annoying from the beginning especially with the "EVGA" motherboard. How I know is dying? I've been getting allot of different BSOD errors, and it all comes down to the RAM slots, PCI-E slots, CPU socket and HDD.

How's it still alive? I can't dual channel with the RAM (long beep), I rarely have to fiddle with the GPU to boot the system up (one long beep and 2 short beeps) and I can't put more than 4GB of RAM (single channel), then the HDD failed to identify itself (yes that's weird, I have to use the windows start-up repair disc to identify it'self). Something in the registry files on the HDD is wrong with the memory settings (even an format did not help, so to stop the two issues was using single channels). It's not the PSU, I changed to a different one and still having same issues, it all comes down to the motherboard.

The only thing I learned out of that week was updating the BIOS motherboard :D, that was the scariest thing to do, but I did it when I was so desperate to make this system to be more stabilized, it only helped a little. Now, I am still running in dual-channel but if I boot the system again, I will get those beeps which forced me to do a single-channel or one single RAM. Sometimes on idle or going through the net a BSOD will appear which also forced me to go with single channel. Basically the RAM slots was the main issue, then it will be the GPU then so on...

I was very worried that one of my hardware's is malfunctioning but I have a back up system to test the hardware's and they all worked fine, which lead to the motherboard that is 1-3 years old has finally warned out. Yes I'm excited to see it go it is the worst experience of my life to have that motherboard, and can't wait to go back to business.

Happy News is!, I will be defiantly getting a new system this Christmas holidays and these are my list:
I just wan't to know your thought's about it?

- i7 3770k
- ASUS Maximus IV Extreme
- G.Skill 16GB DDR3 2133MHz RAM
- CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W
- GTX 560ti
- (Need, help to choose a CPU Cooler, I don't wan't a water cooling system, just a decent CPU heat sink).

This is the link that hopefully ROG can still offer in Christmas holidays or something even better:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-Quad-Core-i7-3770K-CPU-ASUS-Maximus-IV-Extreme-Z-DDR3-2133-RAM-Gami...

Now as we all know, that the newer GPU's now need less power to run!, especially the 660ti only need 300 Watts!. If I have more money this Christmas holidays that is my next GPU upgrade. I thank ASUS especially the ROG community, that I know more about the new hardware's! which I enjoy reading and viewing your videos! I thank you guys especially the moderators we have here!.

So far, I know now not to buy from EVGA again for motherboards never, I'm sticking to ASUS from on now!. If anyone want's to know which hardware's and which brands from each to buy here is my experience from 4-6 years:

Video cards:
GIGABYTE (Didn't try ASUS yet).

Motherboard:
ASUS

RAM:
Corsair (Trying G'skill in the future).

PSU:
Corsair

Thank's guys for reading! especially the ROG community!, I also enjoy helping the community out!

If anyone had similar problems like this, go ahead and talk about your system you know something is defiantly wrong with one of the hardware's, how did you resolve it? and how much hassle did you go through with it? You have a mixed brand favorites for each hardware?

I also wanted to say, if you experience problems with PC's it doesn't hurt to do some research and problem solving, and learning the basic's and getting down to the advance stage, you will surely become a PC expert and fix your PC's by your self (might get hired or run your own business) and start helping others with similar problems that you expreince with, nothing wrong with sharing experience with other people!.

Update:

O'k this is what I am running now:

GPU: GT 220
CPU: Q6600 @ 3.2ghz
RAM: 4GB RAM (dual-channeling) at 1.8v
Drivers: 306.97

Now, everything seems working fine with the GT 220 (No NVIDIA crashes so far or BSOD from RAM). I am thinking that somehow the system is not giving enough power to run on the GTX 560ti onto the PCI-E slot. As Marshall suggested that the south bride is dying, which is very true. The GT 220 works fine, because it doesn't require allot of power on the PCI-E right? because I checked the GTX 560 ti onto my back-up system and it runs fine without NVIDIA crashes.

First of all the GTX 560 ti was very fine, I never had the NVIDIA crashes until 2 days ago, when the RAM was the issue at the first place, and that's when the GPU started not to work properly which crashed from the start-up reboot loop (and it sometime's wont start the system (one long beep and 2 short beep, which is the GPU error) by this error "nvlddmkm.sys". Then I switched to the GT 220 the problem went away. As I said, I checked the GTX 560ti into another system and it's fine without having any issues.

This is the closest thread I can come with with similar to my issue (Luckily, I don't have the PSOD, I'm not putting my GTX 560ti into the system anymore):

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/331037-33-driver-problem-crashing-win7-64bit

If you read all that, there was another person have very similar issue as me that he said it started with the RAM (2nd page first post). I tested the RAM's into the back-up system and they were fine, also run the memtest. I also tested the RAM on this motherboard, the RAM stops at 48% and checked that my system wasn't in FF anymore.

I don't want to bring this up again, but we know now that the south-bridge is dying and not giving enough power to the PCI-E slot. I also have now have a better DPC latency checker application that "Nodens" have suggested from another thread, thanks Nodens. Just now with the GT 220 I played Mass effect 3 for a few minutes at 20-10 FPS, and this is the DPC latency application results:

13561

When I just made the image and attach it, then I checked the DPC latency checker and, I got this very high results!:

1356213563

The very high results are from the GT220 which of course can't handle the game properly which is stressing the GPU but "nvlddmkm.sys" jumped to 15.894... which is very bad right? I also heard that the "nvlddmkm.sys"error is not just the NVIDIA drivers that causing this, it might be the whole system. The "nvlddmkm.sys" wasn't the only one that is high, it's also ndis.sys and the USPPORT.sys (cpu issues), I am now very tired, and will look at this problem tomorrow but if anyone have any suggestions to lower the values down or is this actually show's results that the south-bridge is malfunctioning?

Thank's guys for the suggestions!

Hey everyone missed you all!

I'm so sorry with my inactivity I was on holidays and very busy with college but now I'm back to answer your issues with my beloved new system :D. I will update my signature soon the bad news I didn't get an ASUS motherboard didn't have the money. Thank's everyone! 😄

Edit: Already edited my signature, and my old system is finally completely dead no signal from motherboard...

Thanks! I'm loving the i5 2500k its a very huge improvement from the Q6600 and finally I see the true performance out of the GTX 560 Ti :D.

I already overclock the i5 2500k to 4.5ghz at 1.356v (The gigabyte motherboard doesn't have an Vcore settings, I have to use DYNAMIC VCORE) but its still great!. On prime 95 the highest temperature is at 62C and the cores are at low 70 C, you know what else is awesome? while playing games like GTA 4, BF3 the highest temperature is around 45-48 C! cores on high 50's!. I love the Hyper 212 EVO the only thing I need to upgrade is get an GTX 660 Ti or the GTX 670.

Sorry for my excitement but I've always been scared of the Q6600 temperatures checking it all the time, but with the i5 2500k I don't need to check anymore if my system is fine lol I'm loving the Hyper 212 EVO best choice I made so far :D. Where is that competition that HiVizMan set up ? I'm finally ready :P. I also can overclock the CPU to 4.8ghz but I defiantly need water cooling for that.

Edit: Its been stabled for over 3 weeks :D.

Hehe glad to see you're having fun with the new set up!

Yeah, If those temps are OK for Prime you can relax for anything else...gaming won't stress the CPU anywhere near, temps wise.

and yep! upgrading is always possible for something....a 670 would a smart move price/performance.

Enjoy!:D

OMG has it been around 3 years? I've also checked that most of them do not come online anymore 😞

Wow, so it has been 3 years my motherboard been acting like that, college does make you loose track how long it has been especially only doing part time in University. They were really great people hope they do come online soon, I cannot believe it has been 3 years I have not come to this forums...
