My new Rig Keeps crashing :(

Hi everyone, This is my first post in this forum so I should probably start with a hearty HELLO!

Now on to my issue. So I built this rig two weeks ago and I have not built my own PC before now. Although I have been a part of other builds in the past and I have read/watched videos and done a great deal of research on the matter. I went into this fully confident hat I could accomplish this build and I have had a mostly pleasant time.

However, my system keeps crashing. Let me go over the parts and what i have tried so you know better, where I'm at with this.

Maximus extreme vi mobo
Directcu ii 780gtx
Kingston 120gb hyperx SSD x2
Toshiba 2tb HDD
i7 4770k
G.skill ripjaws 2133mhz 8gb RAM
cooler master 1000w Silent pro m
Cooler master seidon 240 Rad (for the CPU)
Azza Genesis 9000 CASE
6 case fans plus 2 for the rad

Ok so at first I thought that it was heat, so I made sure the temps were ok, by going into the bios and by checking the AI suite data I was able to see the I wasn't even hitting 35c but the crashing persisted. So I did the standard tests Memtest86 and 3dmark. I used 3dmark bc the system often crashed while I was gaming and I wanted to see if a tough 3d render would cause the problem. In the long run I found that the system was going to crash no matter what I was doing. Streaming or typing or just in an idle. Sometimes it will crash right after I boot when nothing has happened yet. I have no overclock AT ALL I even turned off the turbo mode to be sure I was going to run as stable as possible. I have gotten the latest driver for my video card and I just did the Bios update from yesterday. Which was a rough process on its own and I had the system get caught in a loop of not posting and then resetting over and over. I had to unplug and reboot which seemed to go well with the screen saying i ROG1 updating and then i ROG 2 updating the it would boot again but still crashes....sigh. I could really use some help before I set this thing on fire in my yard like some buddhist monk.

Thanks in advance for ANY help or ideas.

Sounds like a Ram issue, but you are not being very descriptive as to "how" it is crashing. Is it freezing, BSOD or just restarting?
What about on reboot, do you get a windows crash report?
What timings are your ram set to?
Have you set up just the absolute essentials with a single stick of Ram closest to the CPU?

Thanks for getting back to me. The crash is a complete and immediate shutoff, then reset. No windows crash report (i wish there was) and the only thing in the event log is a restart with proper shutdown. I use the xmp setting for the ram but it still gets the shutdown, when at the default setting in the bios which i believe is 1333mhz. I have not tried removing one of the ram sticks, but I will right now. Also My motherboard manual describes the Ram install to be in the second and fourth Dimm slots. I know this sounds wierd to me too but I double and triple checked the book. Although I will of course try this as you have suggested. I am perfectly willing to conform to the knowledge of the more experienced. thanks again. II will post again soon with my results.

Sounds like a PSU issue. Do you have another PSU to test with?

Also please confirm that you have the 8 pin power connector populated on your motherboard.

SeaSonic.

Do you have another motherboard etc you could test it on?

I personally like to know it broken, not just suspect it when it comes to returns as it often costs to send them.

I dont have another power supply to test with. 😞 I do have the 8 pin and the supplemental 4 pin also plugged into the board.

Before you go and buy another PSU, see if you can borrow one from a friend or return your system to your retailer and have them test it for you.

Ok 1 correction the default RAM speed on this board is 1600mhz. I tried the reccomended ram configuration of 1 stick in the slot closest to the CPU and the board faild to POST, q-code saying that the Ram was installed wrong. I have moved it to the slot designated bmy MOBO book and it continues to crash often, in fact this is my 3rd time typing this.

Yeah I am with Chino on this, PSU sounds like the culprit.
I suggest you remove if from the case and still set up only the essentials, and see if that works.
It could be shorting.

Ok Sooo... I'll order another one from a different manufacturer, suggestions?
