My Maximus 8 hero won't boot

I just put my pc together out side the case to make sure that it boot when I try and boot it I get q code 62 and the VGA Led is on. My build on a maximus 8 hero with a i5 7600k and one stick of 8gb Kingston hyperX 2133 I don't have a gpu plugged in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the ROG forum.

Have you updated the bios to version 2202 or later ? You'll need to do this for the motherboard to recognize your kabylake cpu.

You can update the bios using a usb flash drive and the bios flashback feature.

Be sure the flash drive is formatted to .FAT32, once you extract the bios file to the usb flash drive, rename the bios file to M8H.CAP then insert the flash drive into the ROG Connect port and hold the bios flashback button until it starts to flash. The flashing should get faster as it goes and should take approximatrly 90 seconds to complete, once flashing stops, start your pc.
