M.2 SSD and the bios

I have the "asus rog maximus x hero (wi-fi ac). I installed 2 samsun ssd 970 plus in each motherboard sockets.

My probelm is this; 

1. I have 2 ssd 970 plus in my system. In samsung magician it shows 1 read at 3535MB/s and the other one read at 1776MB/s. Why the differences?

   But when I moves large files between the two, I'm lucky if I get 300MB/s transfer speed."

   So something might be set wrong in the bios or that is what you get.

Hi @rolly123 are you using SATA port 5 & 6? See PAGE X of your user manual where it states that M.2_2 shares bandwidth with SATA 5 & ^ ports so if any or both of these ports have a cable connected your M.2_2 will then run at X2 or half the speed instead of the X4.

This matches the information you have shared above so I suspect that you have a SATA cable connected on your PORT 5, 6.
