Is the upgrade worth it ?!?

Hey !

I presently have a I7 4770k (WC Corsair H100i), Asus Maximus VI Formula board and 16gb of G-Skill Trident X. I just changed my SLI setup (2 x Asus GTX770 DCUII water cooled) for a GTX 1070 Founders edition .

This is my gaming rig, thing is, I did see a big up with the GTX1070 but I think I am bottle necked ...AKA old gear. You think I should upgrade to something more decent ?

I'm looking at the Intel I7 6700K, Asus Maximus VIII Hero and some G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series (32gb) .

Thanks !

Mart

I wouldn't have thought i7 4770K present a bottleneck. Your current rig should be fine with that GPU.

The 4770K should not be a bottleneck, even with a twin 1070 SLI setup.

No worries. I think the only reasons to upgrade if you want stuff like M.2 PCIe gen 3.0 and U.2 and usb 3.1 and DDR4 RAM otherwise if not bothered then your rig is perfectly capable.

how much of an advantage would be seen from those upgrades you pointed out m.2 and the ddr4. I ask because i'm running same set up as OP but I just picked up a 1080 strix. I planned on upgrading to newer build but didn't notice any kind of issues running the 4770k but i've only tried out acouple of games.
