Intel Core I9-10900K and Asus ROG motherboard maximus XIII hero

About to pull the trigger on this build.

Intel Core I9-10900K
Asus ROG mobo maximus XIII Hero
Samsung 1 TB NVME
EVGA RTX 3080

My question is about the CPU and motherboard.
I was reading that the first PCIE will be disabled because of the 10900K
I have been reading about poor performance of the 11900K and I'm set
on this Asus ROG mobo.
Has anyone else installed this CPU with this MOBO and do you have some
Installation advice for me when it comes to the RTX 3080? Can I put the
RTX 3080 at the lowest slot? Asking because of the PSU space and can I put the
SSD in the second slot?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The manual seems to indicate that the graphics card has to go in the first slot for a single board. The top two slots for a dual graphic configuration and so on.

Not sure that helps any.
I am running the 11,900K and it seems pretty fast once in Windows.
I am however having some slow times to post but I believe that may be due to having a large number of drives internal and external.

Good luck getting that 3080. Prices are ridiculous to the extreme. I've been waiting for the MSRP prices to return to normal. Not hopeful. Till then I am using the onboard Intel 750 through the two USB-C/TunderBolt connectors on the back of the motherboard as well at the HDMI connector (Dual Monitor and a Drawing Tablet with screen)

Hope that helps.
