just be 100% shure you get a controller that supports your board.
i ended up to get a server graded motherboard for mine to work in.
and i did try the card out on 2 motherboards ( one AMD and one INTEL ) before i went and bought a server motherboard.
and since the server OS it mainly have to run on the one i have ( since win7 dident pick it up at all )
and i did buy it whit out doing enny reseach on it.
the card i have is -> LSI MegaRAID SAS 9341-8i SGL (LSI00407)
on their compatibility list they have 3 mobos from asus listed and one of the is Z87-PRO (rev 1.02) and Z9PE-D8 WS (rev 1.04). and Sabertooth 990FX (rev 1.01)
