Hello, as the title states, my i7 8700k is being detected as 4 cores 8 threads by HWInfo, CPUZ as well as the Task Manager. I'm on the ASUS Z370-F motherboard.
Not really sure where to go from here as I've never come across and issue like this.
For some reason, in MSConfig it was limiting Windows to 8 threads. I unchecked the box and it works fine now. It's weird though because I previously had an 8 core 16 thread CPU on this same Windows install and that was working just fine.

Strange! Glad it was an easy fix.
