now i have a zalman 500w power supply 80plus bronze

and i have the hd's all sata except one witch is a 500gb pata

i hear j.j from asus saying that if i add the hd6670 i could make my gaming even better is that true
or witch hd6000 series card can i get that would be compatible with this set up

anything with in $100 would be great cause i am alrdy spending $324 on this set up alone

reason why i wanna build this system is so i can play SWTOR and any newer games that might come around
what are your takes and would you recommend anything better with in an AMD ATI set up i dont favor Intel
much due to high pricing

thank you guys in advance for reading and replying to this post

not sure wether to trust APU's tbh 😕 they seam a bit over rated in my eyes, ur best waiting for either the 28nm cpu's or get a bulldozer cpu
Due to the speed of its orbit and rotation, mercury's days last longer than its years.

well your right they are but if you take advantage from the new egg interview with JJ from asus you make a sweet rig with it

i have to say testing the new system out was great took me a while to find out how to crossfire my xfx 6670 with the 6550D
playing games is a snap bad thing is i am not using full power meaning i am still under 32bit using one 4gig of ram witch registers at 2.98 gb i bought another set of 8gb just in case i damage the one i am using (right?) and since i can up it to 64gbs later 16gb each slot with updates to the bios later on its not a prob

if i take up all the use this mb and apu has to offer with the good amount of ram i would have no problem playing games or watching movies HD sound and graphics are killer using the i inc 28 in monitor i got

but i am waiting on a 16 core amd chip in witch they scrapped cause 8 core is good enough for now (so they say)
would like to wait when the 8 core gets cheaper 8150 is 269 once i see it at 200 or less i am in

but dont lose your trust on dual graphic its going to out source sli and crossfire
i rather see a 8 -16 core with integrated graphic then to have 6 gpus to run a game

here is an example of a rig if you go with out Amd APU
ASUS M5A88-M AMD 880G AM3+ Motherboard has hybrid supports 8 core if it didnt have 4250 or OC DDR3 2000MHz
or DDR3 1866MHz (OC) i would say this MB is great but if it was capable of holding a 7000 hd series integrated chip ddr3 1866 and up holding 64gb total ram you would be golden for 4yr liquid cool the pc later on and OC the heck out of it hybrid or apu will kill the sli and crossfire to much waste of space getting 6 GPU taking up electric just to play a mmo or fps

not a hater just old school i remember being ok playing Oregon trails on the commador 64 and playing rouge spear on a 32mb geforce now its like gigbites and 6 would make you king

but then again you have to see and try for your self

thank you all for all the help and advice

OK this should clarify some of your points:

1. Using a 32bit OS you'll never see more than 4GB of memory - which also counts from your graphics card to. You have to upgrade the OS to see more. The reason you are seeing 2.95GB in Windows is likely because your graphics card has 1GB of memory.

2. To buy an APU you'll need an FM1 socket motherboard. The 880G/AM3+ won't be compatible.

3. You cannot buy >4 cores with integrated graphics as AMD currently does not offer this on its APUs. AMD AM3+ (FX) CPUs do not have integrated graphics so you need to use a graphics card.

3.5 Very fast memory greatly benefits APUs but not so much CPUs unless you're a benchmark king looking for the edge.

4. AMD FX CPUs support up to 16GB of memory max, not 64GB. The motherboard does not control this limitation, only the CPU itself. http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3Plus/M5A88M/#specifications

5. If you're considering a very budget motherboard M5A88 I would not expect much in the way of overclocking. Liquid cooling or otherwise - it's power hardware is not built for it as it's designed to be used under 'normal' conditions. You're better off readjusting your budget to buy a solid air cooler and better motherboard: EVO/Sabertooth/ROG.

thnx MarshallR, so....ur not just another pretty face. 9am...and already i know a few things i did not know last night...
i love this bar.c.

ok so

everything is good now with my system i got a 64 bit os Win 7
i see my 8 gigs of ram usable 7.64 i think its cause i enabled the APU

but there is one thing that is making my head itch and it aint dandruff

and its why is my system and Asus Bios Reading my memory at 1333mhz when its 1866mhz

how can i fix this and where would i go

i come to notice this is a Auto OC board and i cant really manually set it at 1866mhz cause my system stalls
and i get a bios msg saying that OC failed and i need to set it at default settings witch is 1333mhz

i come to read in another fourm from googling my ram item number witch is on asus QVL "CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9" and it states this

"9-10-9-27
Command Mode 2
Row Cycle Time 48
READ to PRE Time 7
RAS# to RAS# Delay 7
WRITE to READ Delay 7
WRITE Recovery Time 14 DRAM Clock
FOUR ACT WIN Time 36
REF Cycle Time 160ns"

is that ok ?

I think the issue you are having here is that some settings in your BIOS is not compatible with the 1866MHz settings of the memory and hence wants it back to the 1333MHz default.

Can someone confirm this?
