I need some advice from water cooling experts please guys

Hi guys
I am running an Asus Maximus formula xi, an Asus STRIX 2080ti and a i9 9900k.
I want to have a go at building in a custom loop for cooling*

I’ve been looking at various solutions and feel drawn towards the EK kits

My case is a H700 PUBG case as I’m a big PUBG fan.
I’ve also purchased some 140mm nzxt rgb fans and a hue 2 kit , so I’d like to get a 140mm kit to be able to use these fans on it ideally.

My main question is the block on the motherboard, it is there so I would like to include it in the loop.
But what metal is inside it >??
I ask as obviously that dictates what metal components I use for the loop to avoid galvanic corriosion by unwittingly mixing them up.

Does none know what these boards contain in the water block ?

Also if anyone has recommendations for loop kits I’d like to hear them, I haven’t yet purchased anything *and am running *the standard gpu cooler and an nzxt aim on the cpu currently
But I do feel,drawn to have a go at the water cooling *

You're going to want to go with copper components. No self respecting company makes an aluminum CPU block. If you are concerned you should use a premix fluid with inhibitors.

Obviously I would use *decent fluid.
Do EK do a copper water block for a 2080ti gpu ? I ask as *i have onl seen nickel plated ones*

It’s all new to me (water cooling) and I am currently on vacation , so I’m using time by the pool to do a bit of research with a beer in hand with a view to making the relevant purchases when I get back in a couple of weeks *

I need to go with copper but I’m noticing that it seems to be either nickel plated or aluminium
Is nickel plated with copper ok ?*

Yeah it’ll be ok.
Make sure you flush the loop first, the EK block on the MB can be very dirty.

Look at Heatkiller blocks rather then EK as they EK blocks have issues fitting on 2080TI’s.

Nickel plating on copper reduces the chance of oxidation or corrosion so yes that is a good thing!
