HOW TO Install M2 (2280) in M.2_1 slot on ROG STRIX Z890-E GAMING WIFI since there's no Q-Latch

It's unclear how to install a WD_BLACK M2 (2280) with heatsink into the M.2_1 slot on ROG STRIX Z890-E GAMING WIFI since there's no Q-Latch.  I don't see any motherboard standoff that would work (threads aren't the same), the standalone Q-latch in the Motherboard kit can't be installed in the right-most screw position (threads are different).

I'm looking to populate all three top M2 sockets (M.2_1, M.2_3 and M.2_4) to make full use of the Intel Core Ultra Processor power and Intel Rapid Storage Technology I need for my configuration.

So while it's super clear how to install an M2 into any of the other 6 slots, it's unclear how to secure the heatsinked M2 when in the _1 slot which has the built-in motherboard heat-pipe assembly (that I don't need).

Any tips?

If I'm not mistaken., but is that not a M.2 Q-Slide to the right of the WD Black which should lock the NVMe in to position?

You're correct!  The issue was the thickness of the WD Black stick didn't allow it to 'catch'.  I had to remove the insulating layer closest to the Q-slide and push it down exceptionally hard (so hard it worried me).   It absolutely wouldn't have worked with the insulation layer in place across the entire stick.  Thanks for the helpful reply.  Cheers!
