Hardware problem. When the display is hot, horizontal lines appear all over the display. The lines correlate with a slowdown in image refresh rate. The more is hot (ex. in summer) the more the screen is not readable, especially while watching videos. The lines are more visible in the corners and on grey colors. At the bottom of the screen, I can also see 2 small darker areas and taouching the frame near those areas I can feel it's very hot.

You're much more likely to get useful help if you provide some details, such as the model of laptop or monitor.
Check the vents are clean and unobstructed. If it's an older display, it could be there's an internal buildup of dust which is impeding cooling, or it might just be that it's showing its age. If it's new or still within warranty period, it sounds like it needs a RMA.

It's a G752VS, year 2017. The notebook does not have dust inside and the vents are fine. It's not the body of the notebook that gets hot, but the frame of the display, which is not supposed to be opened.
I'm waiting for a response on ASUS support page. In the meanwhile I found a solution: if I lower the brightness of the display at less than 50%, the lines are much less visibile (they almost disappear).
