Hit a snag with first time build of Maximus VI Impact build

Hello forum, here's my situation.

Making my first attempt to build a quality gaming pc from scratch. Here are the parts I have so far:
MB - Asus Maximus VI Impact
CPU - intel i5 4570
RAM - 2x 4 gb DDR 3 g.skill sniper (1600 I think)
Case - Lian Li Tu-200
PSU - Silverstone 650w ST65F-G

Installation so far is going smoothly. I still need a HDD and a GPU and monitor, but I wanted to test things out. So, I hooked it up to the TV via the hdmi on the mobo. I also used a simple keyboard as an interface. (A basic USB Dynex keyboard.)

After booting a little, a screen came up saying: Press F1 to run setup. < I pressed F1
Another screen that said: Current BIOS settings do not fully support the boot device. Press F1 to enter BIOS.

Then below it reads: Go to, Advanced > Boot > CSM Parameters to adjust boot parameters.

I pressed F1.

Nothing. The ROG logo appears in the top left corner of the screen, and nothing else, for like 10 minutes. I tried esc, and it says, "do you want to quit without saving?" F1 rings another menu, but I can't navigate it, and it's like each window layers on top of the previous ones without ever going away.

Lastly, I looked at the q-code, and it says A2. That's about all I can think of.

I'd appreciate any help. Thank you very much.

Update:

I added a samsung ssd and an optical drive. That previous box stopped showing up, but I still can't get into the bios. I press DEL and again, all I see is the ROG logo in the upper left. Hitting random keys brings up some dialogue boxes, that layer on top of each other and are hard to decipher. Could it be the TV I'm using? Should I update the BIOS? (And how do I do that?)

Thanks.

Hello

Yes. Connect a proper monitor and all should be fine.

Well, it took me a while to get the rest of the parts, but I added a legit monitor and now it works great. Thanks! 🙂
