I'm finally ready to build or buy a new pc. i've been following asus for a while. even bought a asus laptop for the wife. Now it's
my turn.

I'm looking for some advise and possible complete build. If there are better options for the price like a fully built system please let me know. i havent built or bought a pc in a while. so here it goes

x79 sabertooth mother board
16gb ram
2x gtx 760 2gb sli video cards
asus vg248QE 24" monitor
intel i7-4930k or 4820-basically do i really need it?

i dont have preference on cooling, case, or power supply-just needs to work without problems

i am open to opinions, but the truth is want this to last a while, no need for overclocking. just want a reliable computer for moderate to heavy gaming. mostly World of Tanks. thanks for all and any help in advance

There's a lot of really nice cases on the market get the one that look best for you maybe a mid tower, make sure to get a good PSU its the heart of your rig I'd go with a seasonic I've had bad luck with the corsair psu's lately. Corsair does make some nice cpu water coolers. Good luck on your build..
Current: MSI Xpower Gaming Titanium | 7700K | G Skill Ripjaws V 3000 16Gb | 960 EVO 500Gb | Intel 730 480Gb | Seasonic 1000 Platinum |
NZXT X62 | Acer XB270HU | EVGA 1080 ti FTW3

Secondary: R4BE | 4930K | G.SKILL 2400 16GB | Corsair AX 1500i
Intel 730 240GB + 480GB | EVGA GTX780 ti sli kpe | Custom H20

I would like to be around $2000 ish us, mostly play world of tanks and want to run higher graphic settings, currently run on a xps15 laptop at 60fps on low settings

If you're not planning to do any overclocking, and you want long term reliability (I'm guessing that also means low maintenance), then I'd go with either a good aftermarket air cooler or a closed-loop water rig.

I have also had a lot of poor luck with Corsair PSUs lately (returned two RX750s and an RM650), but I'm solid with my Seasonic Platinum 1000.

I suggest you take a look at the "indecisive new builder seeking advice/guidance" thread in this section.

looks good. so where can i buy some of these things. pretty much looking for long term upgradable.

would a z87 be better than a x79 for long term(5 yrs). i guess im not asking the right ?'s

its possible i might only run a single video but want an option to run 2

so basically im looking for a direction on which board and why. will i really see a difference between the two

i know for sure that i want to run World of Tanks at full res with great fps-60 or higher at max setting as that is what my laptop can do now on
low settings

and since i havent built a pc in about 10 yrs, im slightly behind on the future of upgrades

With the set up chino recommended you will be able to max out world of tanks at 1080p and then some. Going the x79 route can be more expensive. As for making your pc last 5 years it's really a tough call. I like to do the same. In your situation, when a game comes out that makes your machine struggle, It is time to add another GPU or a full system upgrade. You should be able to find all the parts listed on Newegg and Amazon.
