Help choosing hard drive upgrade for g750

So I just picked this laptop up for disgustingly cheap to use when I'm away from my main rig. Only problem I really have is with the hard drive. (That and the fact that I can't upgrade to windows 8.1 but that's another issue in itself)

Anyways, it comes with a 5400rpm hard drive and I find it horrendously slow, especially being that I'm use to my ssd and a 7200rpm hard drive which is the slowest hdd I'm used to using.

So my question is
1) should I keep the 5400rpm and get an ssd as a boot drive along with a couple of programs/games. If I go this option I'd probably only get 180-250gb drive.

or

2) Get a 7200rpm drive and just keep the 5400rpm for movies/music/documents/etc. If I go with the 7200rpm drive I'd probably go with 750gb or a 1 TB drive.

Only concern with going with an ssd is I won't be buying one with a lot of space and many programs/games will still have to go on that 5400rpm hdd. Opinions?

hit up he notebook section and ask around there.
if you want speed take a look at the SSD ( more pricy then HDD but mutch quicker )
the 5400 is made to been inside the laptops becouse they dont produce mutch heat compare to what a 7200 does.
