GPU for ROG Swift PG278Q

I intend to purchase the said monitor as soon as it is available. I would like to make sure that my other hardware is up for the task. For that reason I need your advice on the subject of GPU. I do not like SLI and I would like to have one one processor card in my rig.

Which card should be good enough for the purpose of generating a minimum of 60 FPS while gaming with all the candy on?

The whole point of this screen and GSYNC is that you don't need 60 fps anymore to have a good picture quality and good gaming experience. 60 fps at 1440p at ultra settings is increasingly a task for SLI. Of course best single cards will be some version of GK110. Like a 780Ti...ROG Matrix?

To drive 1440p at 120 or 144hz you will need SLI for sure

Of course I need 60+ fps. Don't be silly. G-Sync will get rid of screen tearing and that's about it.

Matrix 780Ti sounds about right I think. Is there any info about the price?

Yep for high refresh rates at 1080p-1440p you need a pair of 780 ti's in SLI.

Just wait for Display Port 1.2a or 1.3 and get a Radeon card.
