GamerGirlAlice's Epic Gaming/Video Encoding/DJing Build?

GamerGirlAlice
Level 7
ok first i chose the cpu for video encoding power, the 770's for gaming powerhouse and the fact i need a rear exhaust gpu cooler so my case doesn't overheat. im getting a special 180mm closed loop cooler i had to sweet talk for. raider card will be a nice os drive. the psu is beefy for future more powerful cards that might take 3 connectors each like some past evga cards. but does this look like a good build or do u see some things that are over kill? i may change to rampage iv dark if it comes out before i'm ready to buy.

An aftermarket heatsink/cooler is missing on your list. Just like all the other extreme processors before it, the 4960X doesn't come with a stock heatsink. Other than that, everything is good.

All of it is overkill, really, but we like overkill around here. 😉

The only comment I would have is that your choice of ram seems out of step with the rest of the build. 1600 ddr3 is mediocre at best, while the rest of your build is decidedly top notch. A set of Gskil ripjaws @2133 or Corsair Dominator GT/Platinum would seem more in line with the rest of your build.
Asus RIVBE • i7 4930K @ 4.7ghz • 8gb Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133 CL8
2xSLI EVGA GTX 770 SC • Creative X-Fi Titanium • 2x 840 SSD + 1TB Seagate Hybrid
EVGA Supernova 1300W• Asus VG278H & nVidia 3d Vision

XSPC Raystorm (cpu & gpu), XSPC Photon 170, Swiftech D5 vario

Dude, for normal every day use you'd never notice the difference between 1600 and 2133 RAM. The only benefits for faster RAM is for intensive work, such as rendering(video, graphics), VM's, etc...stuff that does a helluva lot of reads/writes...but since Alice is planning on doing encoding on her set up, yes, 2133 is the better option. 32GB is tonnes of space and you could even set up say a 16GB RAM Drive for even better read/write performance for your encoding work...that not even the RAIDR Express could ever dream to match.

i chose the ram because it was 1/2 height so i could have better case airflow. so you think id be better off with nicer ram?

I thought you were trolling me when you said its called second life. neway your on-board audio will handle streaming audio fine. If your going to spend some $$ on a monitor you should look at http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/VG278HE/ - Its 200 bucks cheaper and refresh is 144hz - 2ms gtg - lightboost 3d ready. You will notice the 5ms and get $TRQ@@R off at it after 1 day of use.
