Future planning for ROG Z890 Hero 5.1 sound

Been using my Logitech z-5500 5.1 speakers for well over 20 years. To this day still kicks and sound bad a$$.  I noticed that the Z890 no longer using 3.55mm jacks. Think it was the orange, black and green jacks. Not sure what is the best option to keep 5.1 sound. I might need to get a soundcard, but will that effect the GPU lanes. I don't like the option for soundcard and have not used one since motherboard audio is all I need. The Z-5500 has the option for coaxial cable and optical.  Any feed back would be appreciated.

I'm in the same shoes, using Logitech z906. Looks like a cost down move by Asus, probably people using 5.1 with windows are a niche group. Weird thing is they stated new z890 supports Dolby Atmos decoding, yet removed 5.1 analog out.

Looked at the ROG X870E Hero manual and able to get 5.1 sound using 2 audio jacks in back and mic jack in front of case with Z890 Hero. Most likely will just use optical or a USB audio adapter. If you use USB or audio jack in front of the case you will get Dolby Atmos.

It looks like new gen motherboard can change the audio jack functionality, so if your setup is 5.1, you're going to need to use both the jack at the back and one of the jack on front panel, cable routing is going to be a mess, just for the sake of saving some pennies, bad move

I am in the same boat i have an Altec Lansing 5.1 and would rather not replace it. hoping a good solution comes or some kind of good adapter is made for our issue, not sure why asus would remove this from their motherboards.
