First High Build - ROG Professionals Help Requested

Hi ROG professionals, I'm going to make my first build and came across some questions that I'm unable to solve even after searching.

First of all I let you know the

Build:
- Case: Lian Li PC-O8X
- Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VIII EXTREME GAMING - Socket 1151
- Cpu: Intel i7-6700K (Overclocking)
- Cpu Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H100i GTX
- Ram: Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4-3000 -CL15
- Ram Cooler: Corsair Dominator Airflow Platinum
- Gpu: ASUS GeForce STRIX GTX980Ti DC3OC - 6Gb
- Psu: Corsair AX860i
- Fan: x10 Corsair Air Series AF120Q Red Quiet Editor
- SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 2,5" 1 TB, Solid State Drive

Extras:
- Corsair Kabel-Set AXI/AX/HX/TXM/RM/C Red
- x2 Nanoxia 3-Pin Molex-6x3-Pin Adapter 60 cm

Questions (1)
The case itself has x8 "120 Fans" and I intend to use 2 of them +2 more in order to create Push/Pull altogether with the Radiator.
The Corsair AF120 are 3-Pin, but how do I get x10 Fans working without using a Fan Controller? (since my case don't feature slots).

I thought about using two 3-Pin Molex 6x3 for a total of 12 Fans capacity but I don't think I can connect them to the MOB.
So would be the only option connecting to the PSU? If yes can I connect the 3-Pin into the 4-Pin (Since I don't think it features any 3-Pin) and would I still be able to monitor them since the PSU has Corsair Link? (This is my biggest struggle).

Feel free to gives me alternatives, still I'm limited to https://www.alternate.de/ and maybe some Amazon.

Question (2)
Do I need any other cables to power everything up? Since the Hardware always is packed with the essential... (at least I think so).

Question (3)
Would you change anything on the build? Help is welcome since it's going to be my first and probably last High (Not so End) Pc.?

Let's start with your case, the Lian Li PC-08x is a nice case but for that price you can get the best of the best with a caselabs case that have bays for a fan controller.

Lamptron FC5-V3 fan controller - 30w per channel which means you can control up to 10 fans on each channel.

Your psu should have all the cables you need, the only cable that may not be supplied is a sata data cable for your ssd. The Samsung 950 pro is the newest and fastest M.2 PCIe ssd, you could use one of those as your boot drive.

Another alternative for you ram would be the G.Skill trident Z, if you're just gaming 16GB is plenty and will be for quite a while yet. There are 32GB kits if you still wanted 32GB.

Keep in mind that even though the maximus viii extreme has 4 PCIE slots it's still only 2-way SLI or quad SLI (2 dual gpu's) capable, so unless there is a specific reason for going with the extreme, the hero viii could be a better option. The hero viii also supports 2-way SLI and quad SLI (2 dual gpu's). If you plan on going SLI in the future a 1000w psu would be a better choice.

There is nothing wrong with what you've chosen though, everything is compatible.

You can connect multiple fans to a single fan header on the motherboard as long as the sum of all your fans don't exceed 1A. But if you're planning to use so many fans, I would invest in a fan controller or one of those PWM splitters from Phanteks or Swiftech.

The Maximus VIII Extreme is an excellent choice for the i7-6700K. And since you mentioned overclocking, I would drop that H100i GTX for a EKWB Predator 360 which will fit without any problems inside your case. And if you're into watercooling GPUs, you can even swap that Strix for a Poseidon model and connect it to the Predator.

I've always considered Corsair RAM to be overpriced to be honest. If it was my choice, I'd grab a kit of FURY from HyperX and invest the extra money in something else. When it comes to PSUs, I like the Seasonic brand. Their units are top notch, silent and reliable. The Seasonic Platinum 860W should suffice for your needs unless you plan to do SLI in the future. If so, I'd get a bigger unit like the Seasonic Platinum 1000W.

I loved the EKWB Predator 240 didn't knew about it!
I will probably use a 1000w since I may use SLI in the future.
Regarding the poseidon, how would that be possible if the EKWB Predator 240 is a Cpu Cooler? (and is it better then the H100i)?
Could you explain what exactly in what quantiy I need to buy in order to get the 3-pins fans working?

The Predator 360 has QDC which basically lets your connect your GPU to it without even having to drain the system. If you're going with the Strix GTX 980 Ti, you can buy a pre-filled waterblock that comes with the tubing and everything. Then just connect it to the Predator 360. If you buy the Poseidon, then you only need to get the tubing to connect it since it already has a waterblock. Actually I'm writing something up along those lines. Hopefully I can post it on the forums after this weekend. 😛

And what about my Cpu? I mean if I'm going to use a Radiator for my Gpu were do I connect it?
Do I also need to get a bigger case so that I can use another Radiator for my Cpu connecting it to the moba

I wanted it to be 4K ready, is it possible with the Motherboard you mentioned?

Regarding the fans, if you find anything could I still use the other case and you provide me with a solution like using adapters or so?

Yes the Corsair 750D is a good choice as it's a full tower case with 5.25" bays, there is also the 900D which is a super tower, either one would be fine.

The Intel 750 is another good choice, it's faster than the 850 pro.

For your ram price/performance I would probably choose this kit.

I did a search in the store you listed and only three fan controllers came up, out of the three I would choose this one. You won't need any adapters with a fan controller but you will need fan splitter cables.

For 4k gaming a single gtx 980ti will do ok but you probably won't be hitting 60FPS in most games. For a good gaming experience and smooth gameplay you will want at least two 980ti's and a 1000w psu.

The hero viii is capable of running two 980ti's and the intel 750 ssd as the Intel 750 will run off the chipset.

Nate152 thanks, so let's imagine that I had 12 fans (I know I just have 10) I would need to split those into half so that I had 6 fans endings.
Then connect those 6 (3-Pin ends) to the fan controller and then connect that one to the Motherboard or else? (never used any fan controller).

Regarding the Ram it's for gaming and maybe rendering some stuff but I can later on buy x2 more if needed.

Psu.. yea better investing in a good but low consumtion one (for when the computer is idle).
Going to go for the Intel 750 for mainly OS and maybe get me another SSD for Storage.

Regarding the Cpu Cooler you think it's going to be enough for 4.6/4.8GHz?
