Good afternoon , I am looking into building a gaming computer in 3 months time , I would appreciate any input on what parts to get with a budget of roughly £2,500(GBP) give or take a few hundred , excluding peripherals. I have been having a search around and I have come up with

Case - Obsidian Series® 900D Super Tower Case
Motherboard - Maximus VII Hero
Cpu - Intel core I7-4790/4790k
Video card - EVGA Gtx 780 Ti
Ram - corsair vengeance 16/32 GB
SSD - Samsung EVO (Thanks Antronman)
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache.(Thanks Antronman)
Power supply - Not decided

Don't get Vengeance. Get Vengeance Pro or G.Skill Trident X.


PSU, get a fully modular, 80+ Gold or Platinum Seasonic or EVGA.

SSD, Samsung EVO.

HDD, Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache.

Thank you for the input 🙂 , What cooling should i use ? air or water ? as i will more than likely end up with 3 EVGA GPU's depending on how i feel about the
ROG Swift PG278Q 27-inch WQHD G-Sync Gaming Monitor , for a triple monitor setup.

If you have the money, go for a custom loop. I could easily quote you a good one.

If not, just get an AIO like the Corsair H105.

you will loose warranty when you start pulling things apart, brick a GPU for example, and you are stuck whit it.
IF you want to go custom its costly ( if you are going to cool CPU, GPU ( or GPU's ) ++.

i recommend that as a start kit for cpu ONLY.

think 2x 120 fan slot for each OC'd components in a loop.

and i would recommend a fan controller too.

No , i have never done it before , i just don't want to burn anything out lol.

If people followed that logic, nobody would do custom.



Custom loops are way easier than some people claim. All you have to do is keep your head on your shoulders, and think with that instead of your ass. Do some tests, make sure there's no leaks. Stick to copper and nickel blocks, leave out silver if you have nickel. Chrome fittings are safe.

EDIT:

I also forgot to mention that if you leave everything unplugged, and leave the PSU out then there is 0 risk as long as you give the components several hours to dry, and make sure the bios battery is out of power if the loop leaks.
