Hello everyone,
This is my first time posting here.
I built my own gaming PC. I put an AMD RYZEN 7 5700X CPU on an ASUS Prime B550-PLUS AC-HES AMD AM4 motherboard (+ speaker buzzer), and a Thermalright PS120SE ARGB CPU fan (with thermal paste).
For the rest:
- Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3600 MHz RAM
- WD_BLACK SN770 NVMe 1TB SSD
- Corsair RM850x Power Supply
Everything is new, everything is plugged in.
Problem: When I boot, I have a boot beep but nothing on the video output. Then an error beep is emitted. But I can't identify the error:
- If we consider 1 long, 3 short, Asus says it's a problem with the video card power supply. But for now, I'm using the motherboard's video output (I haven't put the dedicated video card yet) ...
- If we consider 1 long, 4 short, Asus says it's a problem with the CPU ventilation. However, the CPU fans are running ...

I don't understand the problem...

Welcome to the forum 😊
Your CPU does not have an integrated GPU. This means you cannot use the graphics port on the motherboard and therefore you will not see anything or you will get an error message from the motherboard.
Just because the motherboard has a monitor port (HDMI, DP, etc.) does not mean that you do not need a separate graphics card.
The motherboard port can only be used if the CPU has a graphics chip.
So install your separate graphics card, supply it with power and then there should be no more error messages.
If your graphics card is installed, the monitor must also be connected to the graphics card. You cannot use the monitor connection on the mainboard.

Thanks a lot Inge70. That was exactly the situation. I added the video card and everything worked. It seemed to me, when I built PCs 20 years ago, that you didn't worry about whether the processor could handle video. The video output on the motherboard worked and that was it.
Thanks again.
