Hello,
I have ROG Strix XG32AQ 32" Monitor. When you download it's own monitor drivers from ASUS support, there comes XG32AQ.ICC file for a color calibration.
It's stated that my XG32AQ is already pre-calibrated at the factory settings. Do I need to install that icc profile or this is what it already has it?
Thank you.

Hi @Aleatha
As I understand it, ASUS calibrates the panel at the factory and these parameters are stored in firmware and are used whenever the panel is powered on. An ICC offers a further level of adjustment where needed. I'd recommend installing the factory ICC if you haven't done so already. If you have access to a spectrometer it is also possible to calibrate your own ICC, however, the panel colour accuracy is generally excellent.

Just to be sure and not confused,
When you recommended factory ICC, do you refer to factory reset on the monitor or the icc file at the asus website?
I've installed the icc file from the ASUS website, I uninstalled to see the difference. But it still shows that windows uses this file at the display settings when I open HDR mode. When turn HDR off, it doesn't use it.
My last question is, does this ICC file from the website replace the factory settings?
Sorry for the question bombardment. I wish you a good day at work.

1. Factory ICC = ASUS default ICC from support site
2. No, the ICC does not change the factory firmware calibration, and simply adjusts the colour gamut as interpreted by the GPU. Colour accuracy, gamma, luminance and colour temperature may be improved when using the ASUS ICC over Windows default.

Thank you! I only have a last question and we can lock this.
If the Factory ICC = ASUS default ICC from support site. There's no meaning to install it right? What's the point of installing if the things you said like colour accuracy, gamma, luminance is already coming calibrated in factory settings. Because Factory ICC = ASUS default ICC from support site 🙂

The factory ICC is not installed by default
