Devils Canyon i7 Ultimate ROG Gaming Build 2014

HI Guys, Ive finally narrowed down my build as i've been waiting for a few components to be released. This High End Gaming Rig is going in one of my 2 HAF-XB cases.I ve already built one earlier this year as a Digital Audio Workstation. Now its time to replace my ageing AM3 which is currently in my other HAF-XB Case.. Im still waiting on Corsair to release their new K70 RGB Keyboard range but other than that, this list is pretty much complete. Im buying components a little at a time as this rig is costing £2700!

Any comments, suggestions or improvements are most welcome

Since the build is primarily for gaming, i'd suggest you stick with only 1 16GB kit, 32 is way more than you will need. But, if you insist on maxing out the RAM, change the kits for a single 32GB kit as you will have trouble pushing 2 seperate kits to 2133, when the max the 4790K supports is 1600...with 2 sticks, you may have a greater chance of hitting 2133...but it depends on the CPU's IMC.

Nice build, let us know how it works out for you.
I've been eyeing the Corsair K70 myself, but the G710+ has treated me well for some time now.
I also have the Corsair AX860i in another build, outstanding PSU!

hold on for the memory.
the mobo supports up to 3000mhz memory.
so 2133 should be no prroblem realy.
only way to be shure is to test.
rake a look at the ram calc they have on their site and see if you get up enny suported match.
you find it on corsairs homepage under memory finder i rhink it was.

Cheers Dude, I will be buying a single 32GB kit but unfortunately the partpicker site couldnt locate the required part at the time. Ive now edited the memory to a single 32gb kit, and upon reflection you may be correct, so ill go with the 1600mhz thanks for the up 😉

Ive decided before I build this new rig to change the M/B from the Asus Maximus VII Hero and go all out for the VII FORMULA instead. Any issues I should know about with the Formula VII?

Looks like a good build but I too would forget 32 GB and go for some hot 16GB 2400 RAM some Trident X with fast timings

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f32400c10d16gtx

or even

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f32600c10q16gtxd if you are confident of your ram tweaking skills

Im gonna stick with 32GB RAM tbh becuase ill also be doing some HD video editing/encoding. If i find a decent price i may upgrade to 2133Mhz
