DDR3 memory failures

I have a 1 week old Maximus IV Extreme-Z motherboard with I7-3370K (Ivy Bridge). It would not start up until I flashed new BIOS to version 3402. I have installed Crucial Ballistix 16GB Kit (DDR3 -1600 2 x 8GB) in DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2. DRAM voltage is 1.5v and POST memory timing shows 9-9-9-24.
When I run memtest86+ v4.20 I get single bit error after varying amounts of time (hours). The case is open and has plenty of cooling fans. CPU has big Zalman fan installed.
I have built a LOT of ASUS motherboard system over the past 10 years and this one is giving me the biggest problems in "burn in".
Does anyone have a suggestions to help troubleshoot the DRAM problem? Is Crucial DDR3 a bad choice for this board?

Is that kit on the Asus QVL for that mobo? Or does Crucial suggesting that memory kit for this particular mobo? You could try to set up XMP (if your kit supports it) instead of leaving it on auto in BIOS...

Crucial website says it supports this ASUS motherboard. Do you have a link for the ASUS Memory kit vendor list? I can't seem to find it on the website

I guess I should have checked before ordering it from newegg.com. It was one of their "combo deals". I wonder if there is any hope of getting this memory to be reliable or just buy another kit from the ASUS list. BTW I bought two kits for a 32GB system 😞

I think it's still OK... using only one kit - two kits may cause more trouble... If Crucial is suggesting for this mobo, then it means that they have tried it.

You should try to set up the memory timings and voltages manually in BIOS... first with one kit, then with two... it may need just some tweaking to work... 🙂

Now I'm in new territory! I tried boosting DRAM voltage to 1.520v but that didn't help. If current timing is 9-9-9-24, where would I start to tweak (I assume slow it down a little). I'm hoping that Crucial will reply to my message, but that's a long shot. If you know of any goo articles to help me, please let me know.
Right now I am using only one kit (2 x 😎

Thanks for your help. I think I want to just slow the memory down a little to see if it works. BTW, Crucial told me via a chat session that this kit has been fully tested with the ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z motherboard and are compatible! I wonder why BOTH kits are producing single bit failures (randomly and not that many) at times. It seems to me that some memory timing must be slightly off. As the final result of the chat session, it was suggested that I call (800 number) and speak to a support rep. I have never had any luck finding someone who knows what they're talking about.
