D6 code when swapping CPU’s

I have a b550-e board and updated the bios before swapping my CPU’s. I went from a ryzen 7 3700 to a ryzen 9 5950x and get the D6 code instantly on boot. When I swap back to the 3700 CPU it runs fine. HELP PLEASE AND THANKS!

Code D6 is usually a gpu related error, strange you get D6 after swapping cpu's.

Try  this:

With your pc off and the power supply cable unplugged:

After swapping cpu's, clear the cmos by shorting the two pins of the Clear CMOS header.

Then see if she fires up.

Just tried that and still getting the D6 code instantly it works fine with the 3700, once I swap cpu, no go. Very frustrated at this point

When you have the 3700 cpu installed, try reverting all of the BIOS settings to default. 5950X is available from BIOS update 1004.
