Corsair H100i Hater .

Installed H100i rad proceeded to install Maximus v formula and Intel 3570k.
Installed backplate and pump to cpu slowly started to leak when before i had any warning there was a big pop trapped in pressure blew glycol and water all over my motherboard and processor and into my new case Coolermaster Storm Trooper.Now i'm out 700.00 bucks watercooling voids all warranties.
Thank God i didn't have my new Asus 680gtx DC2-4GD5 in the case or my new Corsair AX860i power supply or my 3 128gb Samsung Pro SSD.
I'm not impressed will never water cool ever again back to air cooling.My heart is broken this was my dream computer.
Back to my 680i Evga motherboard in my old Case Coolermaster Haf 932 with a Q6600.Doesn't support SSD's but my 680 gtx works fine.8gb ddr2 patriot viper memory.Using Thermaltake 850 w power supply.Computer is a lot slower but at least i can still play my games.Now i have to save up for another year before i can afford a new ASUS motherboard and processor.
What would you do in a case like this?

Take pictures of the leak and all the components that it damaged. Make sure each picture has the date in them. RMA to Corsair. They'll take care of you, my friend. I know they've resolved leakage cases in the past. It's not in their warranty or anywhere official, but they'll probably reimburse your losses.

I just built a rig with a Zalman 320 LQ closed loop water cooler. My first use of water cooling and I don't trust it 100%. So, I used a little high quality black culk (get it at your building supply store) and sealed all 4 hose connections. Then I used some black Stretch and Seal (a stretchable watersealing tape also available at building supply stores) over that to seal the joints some more. Don't use too much of either. It is almost invisible, but I feel more confident. I also did a case mod and mounted the radiator OUTSIDE my case in the rear, eliminating 50% of potential problems. I plan on showing how I did the case mod and rear mount in the appropriate section of the ROG forum in a week or so.

Wish i had a camera don't even own a cell phone to take a picture.Will take the h100i back to memory express and explain what happened so it doesn't happen to someone else.Will get the motherboard and cpu tested to see if it is no good.I had the h100i in my case for a week maybe air got trapped in it because it sat for so long not running it didn't leak then until i tried to mount it on the cpu.I can't believe the rubber hose is just pushed onto the barbs i should have checked it there should be clamps on it.Will wait to see what memory express says before i make any decisions.Thanks for the replies but i don't understand why people take the chance on watercooling to many components can get ruined and i don't have the money but i wish i did.

Things can and do go wrong, but here's something for next time if you ever try it again. Setup your cooling on your CPU...but do it with your motherboard outside of the case on the box and use plenty of paper towel to cover the board and fittings, a lot of the best mods with liquid loops, you will see pics of the modders doing either this, or just setting up everything in their case, but using paper towel still covering all components.

Sucks to hear that you had a terrible 1st start, hope you can get a good outcome from it 🙂 oh and just so you know, liquid cooling does not void your warranty...only adding a waterblock to your VGA does...maybe for the NB/SB and VRMs...I dunno, never heard that said before though.

Watercooling yeilds great benefits performance wise and aesthetically. But unfortunately water and electronics do not play well together. So there will always be a risk of leakage involved.

Corsair will replace all the parts that were damaged. You just have to provide evidence to support your claim.

I was thinking of getting the H100i for my new build, once the new ROG boards are in retails shops of course!
Right now getting a new (LGA1150 ROG is like rocking horse doo doo!!)

But this sends shivers down my spine, I thought all these Corsair coolers were Factory sealed?

Sorry to hear this....my H100 leaked but dripped onto the RAM ez plug cable and ran down that for a ways and dripped onto floor of case....no harm done....miracle! Needless to say H100 is in landfill. Paradoxically it simply spurred me to do things properly and build a loop myself....at least if things go wrong it's my fault and under my control.

If the board was not powered there is a perfectly good chance it is fine!!.....indeed HiVizMan regularly washes his boards in soapy water I believe....you just have to clean and thoroughly dry it. Water will not harm the board if it is not powered....same with processor.

However, I hope Corsair will simply see you right!
