Hello !

I'm looking for a new desktop and I need your help with my hardware ! I'm not up to date with the new hardware :P. My budget is around 1000$ without the screen / keyboard / mice. Actually I'm looking for these pièces...

Motherboard : A455-2042 ::ASUS P8Z77-V LX Intel 7 Series Motherboard - ATX, Socket H2 (LGA1155), Intel Z77 Express, 2400MHz DDR3 (O.C.), SATA III (6Gb/s), RAID, 8-CH Audio, Gigabit LAN, USB 3.0, PCIe 3.0, CrossFireX Ready(2.6 lbs)

Or this one : ASRock Z68 PRO3 GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

For my motherboard I don't need SLI or Crossfire, so if you have a better idea for my budget...

Graphic card : EVGA GTX 670

CPU : Core i5-2500k or i5-3570k... i'm not really sure about this. tell me what you think about it. I heard the i5-3570k come really hot and for overclocking the i5-2500k is better.. But I'm not sure about which choose so let me know !

Alimentation - Antec TruePower New TP-550 550W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.3 / EPS12V V2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE . ( 550w seems enought no ? )

Hard drive : I'm looking for Western digital 500Go for the moment... ( Don't need really more anyway )

Ram - C13-5720 ::Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B Vengeance Desktop Memory Kit - 8GB (2x 4GB), PC3-12800, DDR3-1600MHz, 9-9-9-24 CAS Latency, Intel XMP Ready, Unbuffered(0.3 lbs)

Case : Cooler Master... I need the most silent case ! So let me know which model buy

I just built a machine with that Asus board and the i5 2500k for a customer with gskill sniper ram. ran really well. Asrock is not bad and it is cheaper, but Asus is the best motherboards around.

Being ingnorant and ingnored one post at a time.

Yes, go with the Asus board! 🙂 I would choose the 2500k... be sure that the memory kit is compatible with your mobo by checking the QVL and the manufacturer's recommendations... if you want OC'ing, you may consider a slightly bigger PSU...

What's the main argument to choose the i5-2500k? x) Why it's better to take the last generation and not the new? 😛

Zka17 : when you say consider a slightly PSU... I have to take one around ???? Watt

There's your answer regarding the 2500k vs 3570k, facefefullz! The Ivy Bridge has different thermal design - seemingly weaker than the 2500k. Beside, the 2500k was already proven to be a good, reliable CPU...

Regarding the PSU, I would go up to 700-750W range with your suggested setup...
