Hi sureshot40sw, That is one nice super machine in the making. The only thing I would do is contact Asus support and ask them if the raidr SSD works with SLI. I read a review on Newegg that the raidr doesn't let your machine recognize SLI and was confirmed by Asus support. Just something to look into.

Welcome to the ROG forums. Specifications are brilliant.

Regarding your memory, the corasir airflow, is really good and very silent at 1200rpm but goes up to 3800rpm i think. I own one of those an keeps my memory real cool.
however after 5months the thumb screws started to rust, that's the only con I can point out but otherwise no problems with it.

to be honest whit you. get one ssd in stead of the raidr.
ssd's you cag get speeds at around 550/520 read/write or up to 550/550 if you find one.
take a look at the samsung EVO ssd's.
i bet you will find them cheeper when it comes to storrage vice compare to the raidr drive.
and you would not have to think of the pcie problem.
and on the ram. get one kit of 4x8gig and dont mix it up and buy 2 kits.
1 kit = one pack of the amount of ram in one package.

As far as fans go, I would recommend high-static pressure fans over the AF series. A really good, quiet high-static pressure fan series is the Noctua NF-F12 series.

I'm in the process of receiving my 3rd fan controller\I\o panel for my 600t case. It's a issue with these otherwise ok cases. And it's not just a matter of removing a couple screws to replace it. Sides, front, back and top panels have to come off to replace it.

Is there a REAL advantage to using the raidr during gameplay ? I guess I'm trying to decide which would be more beneficial ... a... sli or b.. single card with a raidr... also, what are your thoughts on the Phoebus sound card? is it really necessary with the FX Supreme on the MB ..?

if a single card + Raidr woul dwork better, would the MARS 760 be a better choice than the Poseidon gtx 780 ?

this is a ground up build with no real budget cap so I'm looking for the best I can get ..

SSDs do not make ANY difference during gameplay. SSDs simply have a larger read/write speed than traditional HDDs, which basically means they can compile programs faster. Which means you will boot faster, launch programs faster, and compile code faster. But as far as performance in a program goes, they have no effect. I would go with a Samsung 840 EVO 1TB for your storage if you have a huge budget. And while the Posideon is a great card, I would recommend waiting until the price is seen and then decide if you want to buy two normal GTX 780s or R9 280xs and then put waterblocks on them, or if the Posideon would be cheaper. And while SupremeFX and sonic radar is very good, it cannot compare with a dedicated soundcard. If sound is something important for you, then I would buy the Xonar Phoebus.
