Hello, I am in the process of building my new gaming PC and was hoping someone with more experience could help me in choosing my gpu.
Firstly I would like to state that I am building this for 3 specific games, Cry sis 3 , Star wars 1313, and Bioshock infinite. I would like to be able to run these at ultra settings and still have decent fps at 1920 x 1280
My system so far is
Asus Rog. Maximus V formula/ thunder fx
Intel i7 3770 k
16 gb of G Skill Trident X 2660
Now my question, is 2 Asus 660 ti cards more powerful than a gtx 680. I have never did sli so I don't know if its worth it. I would buy a 680 now but not sure I can get another later but I can buy 2 660 ti cards now.

From experience if you get one of the EVGA 680s they should continue to be available. My EVGA 570 I bought in 2010 is still available now. I entertained getting another one, but I will be fine until the 700 series comes out next year.

Two 660s is more powerful than a single 680, but I don't think it's enough. You would be pigeonholing yourself into the 660s.

Thank you, appreciate the advice.

I would go the single 680 route myself. As much as I enjoy SLi from the bling and bragging rights of going multi card I would rather have that option as an upgrade path down the line. Tri-Sli would be more risk and less reward in my view in a years time.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

I would go for 680 for now. Haivng said that if you are going for another 680 in the near future might as well give 690 a thought before investing the 2nd 680 card.
