Good day to all,
This is my first posting in the ROG Asus forum, hoping that I will remain an active member in it for a long time.
Yesterday, I managed to set up a new PC, based on the following (basic) configuration:
- Motherboard: Asus Z170 Pro
- CPU: Intel i7-6700k
- RAM: G.Skill TridentZ 32GB, 3200 MHz
- PSU: Corsair HX1050 80 Plus Gold, 1050W
- System Discs: 2 x Samsung 850 Evo, 120 GB in RAID 0 set, connected on the two SATA Express ports of the motherboard
- GPU: XFX Radeon R9-380P-4DF5, Double Dissipation 4GB GDDR5
- CPU Cooling: Corsair Hydro H80 CPU cooler
- Optical Drive: Pioneer BDR-209EBK BD-R Drive
The hardware has initially been mounted on a
CoolerMaster Test Bench V1.0 CL-001-KKN1-GP, specially modified to accept heavy components (like for example a big GPU and the Corsair CPU water cooling).
I intend to put everything in Lian Li PC-A10A computer case, equipped with some more additional hardware, like storage HDDs, etc., but for the time being, I need to keep it on the Test Bench, to finish and complete the installation of the OS and the basic required software.
When I started configuring the basic characterisitics of the system through the motherboard BIOS, I had first of all to upgrade the BIOS to the newer version 1702 (mine was the older 1302 version), succesfully done through the Asus EZ Flash uitility and a USB stick.
Then, I went in the Advanced Mode -> Advanced Menu -> SATA Configuration -> RAID Mode to create a RAID 0 set with the two Samsung SSDs. At that stage, I specified a stripe size of 64 kb on the set to be created. I saved the changes and I restarted the computer.
After that, I inserted the Windows 10 Pro DVD in the optical drive and I loaded the OS on the set. When everything was succesfully finished and the first updates were downloaded, I checked once more the BIOS and I discovered that the RAID set stripe size was set at 16 kb. For some reason, perhaps by my mistake, the "64 kb" set was not kept.
I tried to see if I can alter it in BIOS, but I could not find such access at first glance. Therefore my question is:
Can this be altered, by keeping the OS or should I have to delete the set and reload the OS again?
Thanks in advance.
