Card Upgrade: Will my system hold back a HD 7970 MATRIX playing BF3?

This is a lot of video card, and it won't make sense to upgrade if I can't get the most out of the card with my system.

If so, would another upgrade to an Ivy Bridge relieve the system bottleneck?

Well, since you didn't post your system specs, I'll assume the ones you have in your signature is your system. 😛 Your system won't hold back the 7970 Matrix.

I have a current generation card on the same CPU and it's nice and quick.
