I am planning a new build and wanted to ask for opinions. (I will be waiting until Feb,2015 with hope that GTX 980 Ti will be released)

I don't have the 4790k but I will say it is VERY rare that you will find one that can't run ram at 2400MHz. My 3770k can ran 2800MHz ram with a bump in the vcssa voltage which is the same as the system agent voltage on your board. Haswell has a stronger imc than ivy bridge.

You are not screwed at all and don't be worried, your cpu will run 2400MHz ram.
