Best gaming motherboard 200-280$ for 6700k?

What is the best motherboard for a 6700k that a 280$ max budget will allow me to buy? This will have a 6700k cpu and hopefully be able to do a little overclocking. It will have one gtx 1070 video card and 1 m2 sata drive. Nothing crazy I just want the best my 280$ can get me for a gaming build. Thanks!

I see the maximus viii hero alpha is on sale at newegg and it has RGB lighting, is your 1070 a strix 1070 with RGB lighting? It's a nice combo but be warned you won't be able to sync the motherboard LED's with the Strix 1070 LED's but you can set the same color on both.

If RGB isn't your thing then the regular maximus viii hero is a good choice. With an "ROG" board you'll get more gaming and overclocking features.

It looks like these boards have some quality control issues. Are these good boards? Or are a lot of them being shipped with bad hardware on-board? They look good but I am just leery of buying a bad motherboard. I think I said the word "board" in this post enough 😉

They're ROG, they are the best of the best either one will perform very well. 🙂
