What is best Asus motherboard for a heavy system in 2025, and I’m hoping to get some advice from you. After reading reviews on The Verge, Tom’s Hardware, and PCMag, it looks like the two top options are the Asus ROG Z790 and the ASUS ROG Z890.

ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming WiFi Intel Z790 LGA 1700 ATX
The ROG Strix Z790 is a powerful motherboard that’s great for building a custom PC. It supports overclocking and has a lot of upgrade options. On the other hand, the ASUS ROG Strix Z890 is a high-performance and updated rog series that’s also known for its great gaming and productivity performance, but it’s not as flexible when it comes to upgrading.
In my case, I plan to use the system for gaming, 4K video editing, 3D rendering, multitasking with apps like Photoshop and After Effects, and sometimes streaming.
I’m having a hard time deciding which one would suit my needs better. Do you think the ASUS ROG Strix Z890 is the better choice because of its upgrade potential, or would the ROG Strix Z790 be enough for my needs since it’s already powerful?
Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
