Hey all, I’m in the middle of a new build and I have run into a problem.

ive got a rog strix b550f motherboard paired with a rog strix 750w psu.

the psu come with 2 cpu cables that both have 4+4 plugs

the problem is the motherboard takes a 8 pin and 4 pin plug.

i know most people say you can join the 2 4+4 pin plugs together to fit in the 8 pin port but only 1 of the 4 pin plugs fit and the other does not. I’m really stuck with what to do and hopefully someone can help me out here. I’ve added photos to help you understand

8-Pin CPU Power Not Detected

  • Some users find that their system doesn't boot because the CPU power cable isn't seated properly. The motherboard requires at least the 8-pin EPS connector, and optionally, a 4-pin connector for additional power.
  • Fix: Ensure that the 8-pin EPS connector is fully inserted into the motherboard. You should hear or feel a click when it's properly secured.
