I have a Strix G18LP laptop bought in August this year. I want to have one color for all of the keyboard exept the "clear" keys (Q,W,E,R,A,S,D,F and the space bar) and a different one for those keys. Armory Crate doesn't have this ability (that I can find). And Aura Creator doesn't show the keyboard. It shows the laptop outline but no details.
Yesterday (Nov 23, 20205) I used the Asus uninstall tool to uninstall both programs and then reinstalled the latest versions. The G18 is shown as an available device and is selected in the new Aura Creator. Same thing....
I rebooted (complete shutdown, waited a bit ,then restart) after the unindtall and after the new install.
Any ides on how to fix this?
Thanks!

It sounds like Aura Creator isn’t detecting your keyboard layout properly, which is why it only shows the outline. For the Strix G18LP, try these steps:
Run Aura Creator as Administrator – sometimes it needs elevated permissions to fully access the keyboard.
Check Windows version & drivers – make sure your Intel/AMD chipset, GPU, and Windows updates are all current. Aura Creator sometimes won’t render the keyboard if drivers are outdated.
Disable other RGB software – any leftover Armory Crate or third-party RGB software can conflict with Aura Creator. Make sure only Aura Creator is running.
Reset Aura Creator config – delete the %appdata%\ASUS\Aura folder to force it to rebuild the device profiles.
Check for Aura SDK/Device Support – some Strix G18LP layouts might need the Aura SDK update for full key mapping to appear.
If none of these work, ASUS support sometimes provides a special patched version for new G18LP keyboards that fully exposes all keys in Aura Creator.

Thanks, Gracw!
I thought I knew my way around a computer (used to be computer tech) but thia Asus SW has me baffled.
I've always right clicked on a shortcut and either picked run as admin or select go to file location to run the file directly. But neither of these are available for the Aura Creator icons. So, how do I run it as admin? (Asking this makes me feel stupid. But I've told a lot of people "the only dumb question is the one you don't ask....
All drivers are up to date.
Armory Crate runs at startup and I cannot End Task the entries in Task Manager, they just reload immediately.
No ASUS\Aura folder to be found. That seems weird.
I cannot find the Aura SDK update on the Asus websites. So, my search skills have left me, too.

Well, I uninstalled this crap SW, again. Deleted left over files and generally cleaned up and reinstalled, again, running the install file as admin. Armory Crate sees the laptop as an available device which can be selected. Aura Creator cannot find it at all now. I definately see why this SW gets such terrible reviews. What a piece of crap!
