Memory speeds up to 5000mhz (O.C.+)? That sounds interesting

Rather sad to see that there wasn't a mATX RoG model listed. So first we lost Maximus Gene and now Strix G has gone. Guess I won't be buying ASUS this time.

That would be *real* fake news.

So it looks like there will be a return of the Maximus Gene! Unfortunately it only has two regular DIMM slots.

Epic memory speeds are invariably paired with low memory capacities, no?

DDR4-5000+ seems impressive ... until you realize it'll only work in something like maybe a 1x4GB or 2x2GB configuration, lol. Great for setting new high scores but not so great in real life workloads or in running decent games.

Gskill was supposed to release a 2X8GB 4700mhz kit a while back so 5000mhz may not be to far off, at least some boards may support it if it does become a reality, I like the Gene with 2 dimm support, it will probably take the place of the old Impact as a top performer in small package, plus a new double capacity dimm drive? that sounds interesting
Hope Intel can supply enough CPU's for the demand
The Extreme is making a return, what a nice looking board

Quality RAM and quality mobos can extend performance limits, but the ultimate bottleneck is always the CPU's iMCs. Anything "leaked" yet about new Intel iMC specs?

There have been leaks, no idea on memory performance that I have seen. Should be more leaks and reporting soon

The new Gene seems a bit weird to me. Only 2 DIMMs, no SLI and a reduced number of SATA. Overall it is specced more like an ITX board than mATX.
