For a few weeks I am running a new computer I have casually built. Im not 30 or 40 anymore. I have experienced some BSOD and partly my fault due to a USB hotas plugged in without a driver. There were some other software problems I solved too.

I am down to this issue.
Nvlddmkm GPUID 100 and this gave me some great clues a couple days ago with screen flicking to black and back while playing a internet video. Some solutions pointed to bios and XMP and so far I think that is working for me. I changed from XMP 1 Asus Optimized to XMP2 which is stock 5600 overclock. Everything Auto. running a 12700k. I am liking it so far. No crash in a game or any sign of issue so far. The MB isnt listed on Corsair site. Is on ASUS qvl. So far Event viewer is looking great!

Hello, XMP2 is the default DIMM profile, so some of the memory subsets will be looser and not as hard on the system.

You can run a memory stress test such as Ramtest or HCI Memtest pro to test memory stability.
13900KS / 8000 CAS36 / ROG APEX Z790 / ROG TUF RTX 4090

Memory tests pass on both xmp 1 and 2 so the problem is more complicated. 3 days days trouble free and no more BSOD. Computer is also running some heavy high graphics game (1440P on a 43 inch 4k LG tv 60hz. ....and I have no problem. The poor 1660 is maxed out though and its hanging in there with no more video related errors or BSOD. no more screen flickers or fade to black ......giving up on simple internet news videos.

Ill take it. Now i can install the 3080 12gb.
