Hello.
There was a problem on the B350-F, only one memory channel A1 and A2 works. If I put memory in the B1 or B2 slot on the motherboard, the memory error indicator lights up and then nothing happens, only a black screen.
Reinstalling the BIOS and replacing the processor and replacing the memory did not help.Has anyone encountered similar problems? What could be the problem?
There is a topic here with the same problem, which could not be solved:

Hi!
Funny that you posted about this right now. 🙂 I have exactly the same problem. I have been investigating that for a few days now and some days seven years ago when I bought the motherboard.
Current setup:
- Asus ROG STRIX 350-F with latest BIOS
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600
- HyperX Predator DDR4 3200MHz 2x8GB
- Asus ROG STRIX GTX 1080
- 3 SSD discs
- 650W Seagate PSU
I had the same problem also with Ryzen 5 1600 and older BIOS. RAM sticks only work on channel A slots separately or together. Installing RAM to any channel B slot causes boot test error and I can not even access BIOS. I have tested almost everything like a) different RAM combinations b) installing CPU again c) loosening CPU cooler screws and loosening mobo screws (to avoid mono benging) d) installing new BIOS and resetting CMOS. Nothing has worked. My last try will be to try cleaning the CPU socket and checking all the CPU and socket pins. If that won't work maybe the mobo is faulty. Or maybe different RAMs would work.
What kind of hw setup do you have?

Hi.
I tried Kingston Beast 16GB 3200MHz and Patriot 8GB 2666MHz memory. I tried Ryzen 7 5700G and Ryzen 5 1600 processors.
There are many posts on the Internet with such cases, but there is not a single solution to this problem. Someone says that such problems may be caused by socket damage or chipset failure.
Sorry for my English.

Have you tried installing very old BIOS versions and checking if that solved the problem?

Thanks! Very good info to me that you have tried with different CPUs and memory stick models.
I had the same problem also with Ryzen 5 1600 and some 2017 BIOS model back then. Same HyperX sticks.
The main motivator to me is to get dual channel working. I'll let you know if I have any success with the CPU cleaning operation.

I checked CPU pins and also tried with new DRAM sticks (Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3600Mhz). Unfortunately Channel B remains non functional. If there is a stick in any B channel slot booting does not proceed and orange error light remains next to DRAM sticks. I guess both of my DRAMs have chip from SK Hynix. So probably changing to DRAM with other chip vendor like Samsung could help. Or then the mob is faulty.

Unfortunately, this is not a problem with the memory modules. I tried DDR4 from 4 different manufacturers and nothing changed. I think you need to try installing different versions of the BIOS and try switching different settings in the BIOS.

DIMM detection issues are quite often due to CPU, or CPU pin-pad damage or contact - unless the traces on the board are physically damaged. Might be best to open a support case or see if you can get a local sys integrator to try and resolve for you.

The service center told me that, according to their statistics, this problem most often occurs when the user tries to remove the cooler and the processor remains clamped in the socket. Because the thermal paste has stuck to the cooler, the processor is pulled out with the clamped tip, thus damaging the socket contacts associated with the memory channel. I was offered to replace the socket, but the cost of this service is such that it is better to buy a new motherboard.
