Asus ROG Strix 270e Motherboard

Hi, I have just insatalled the above board and all is well except the Chassis fan header 1. I have checked in the bios and it shows fan running, but the fan only
runs for a brief moment when booting up and then stops when windows loads.
Fan expert does not recognise the fan header and neither does the Q setup in bios. I have been forced to use the cpu-op & io-pump headers for my extra case fans. PS Sorry should be z270e.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Chino thanks for the reply.
Yes I have tried another fan. I have 5 Noctua fans in my case, 2 for the noctua cpu cooler and 2 140mm & 1 129mm case fan.
When the system boots the fan in chassis 1 runs until window 10 is loaded and then it stops. I have been into the bios Q fan and it shows the fan running
at 23orpm but it is not turning at all. When I go further into the Q fan monitor it shows less parameters than the chassis 2 fan, which works well.
Mate I hope I explained this well enough.

Again thanks for any help.
Regards

Really odd , bios shows fan not spinning, but it is, then after I set to turbo bios shows 3100rpm far greater than the fan can spin, although the fan still
spins at normal speed. Then I load windows and the fan stops and the Fan expert does not see it. I'm thinking of re-installing the AI Suite or I"m beginning to think it
is a faulty motherboard.

Well uninstalled AI Suite 3 and the fan is now recognised by the Q Fan in bios and spinning normally after boot up. It would appear that the suite was the problem.
The downside is that I really like AI Suite 3 and it's other features and the fact that I could check temps without booting to bios.
I just can't win.

Thanks Chino for taking the time to answering my thread & attempting to help.

I had suspected that to be the problem.

Out of curiosity, were you using the latest version of AI Suite III for your motherboard?

Yes mate I think so , it updated when I first set it up..EZ update ver 2.03.01 Duel Int Processors 5 1.03.77 System Info 1.01.04. if they are the latest versions.

Also Chino, I also notice that all is ok with fan speed etc on Fan 1 until I do a fan tune through Fan Expert 4 and then Chassis Fan Header 1 is not recognised again.

The motherboard is thankfully working ok, but it's a software problem through A1 Suite 3 it seems.

Very strange.
